An unusual feature of certain New Zealand campsites is the phenomena of having to pay for your shower. Yes, you actually have to pay extra to have a shower – taking a shower is evidently seen as a non-essential luxury provided by our camp ground hosts... surely the average camper wouldn't want to use this facility? Pay a snip at NZ$35 ($26 / £16.30 / €17.60) a night for your campsite, add an extra dollar for your six minute shower, simple!
