The Lonely Planet Peru

Whoever wrote the 2007 edition of the Lonely Planet Peru really doesn't like the country. If you'd read the book before visiting, you'd probably change your mind and go elsewhere. It's apparently a country of armed bandits, road crashes, rapes, murders, thieves and officially sanctioned rip-offs. I've never read such a negative piece of work, especially considering Lonely Planets for other countries (such as New Zealand and Cuba), which make them sound like magical wonderlands. It's also very outdated and poorly researched. So please, don't buy the Lonely Planet for Peru, go and enjoy the country!
