Technically we 
visited China beyond immigration, as we had to clear immigration to check in for our connecting flight – we have the transit visa stamp in the passport! Actually we would have visited China, but with the high cost of the visa, and difficulty of Celine getting one in the UK (it seems there has been some sort of falling out between France and China), having to go to the embassy in person, wait 4 days for an interview, provide detailed summary of our daily plan in China and supply previous years salary details... thought we'd pass this time. Nothing much to say about Beijing airport, except they have lounger chairs which I think is a great idea!
