After a few days resting in Greymouth after the St James Walkway, we headed to Authur's Pass National Park and some more hiking and exploration... Climbed almost to the top of Avalanche Peak, the peak itself being out of reach due to avalanche danger and our lack of snow gear. Gorgeous days climbing, just over 1,000 metres ascent and descent. Lunch at thereabouts the top accompanied by a pair of Kea, who were quite happy to open the zip of our packs with their teeth!
Lovely weather as we did some other tracks in the area - up the Bealy Spur track... lovely part of the country.
